30 yrs playing experience and 4yrs as a full time guitar teacher (to date). Classically trained to LCM Grade 7. My main approach is to give students a good grounding in all aspects of guitar playing and related theory(scales, chord construction, CAGED system etc..)..and perhaps, more importantly, to play the songs/styles that they want to play. I can and do teach to exam grades(Rockschool)and am familiar with the RGT syllabus, but I only enter pupils for exams if required to do so by the pupil;exams are NOT compulsory. The important thing is that you ENJOY YOURSELF!!!! Weekly lessons available Mon - Friday, 9am to 10pm and Sunday 6pm - 9pm and are approx 1 hour. Flexible daytime lesson schedules available for people on shift work etc. I also give free advice for anyone looking to buy their 1st guitar, and also carry out set-ups and upgrades to guitars(eg swap pu's, replace nuts,hardware, improve action/playability etc..)

Levels

Ages from 9yrs upwards...my oldest pupil currently is 70! Total beginners to intermediates a speciallity. No musical knowledge required, music notation and TAB taught from scratch.

Styles

Most styles taught, electric and acoustic guitars:- Blues, Classic Rock, Metal, Acoustic( Classical, Fingerpicking + Flatpicking)..and Bass guitar fundamentals.
