What you want to learn is more or less completely up to you. You can decide to take official grades from either rockschool grades or RGT grades, or alternatively, you can follow my own personal teaching material which is influenced by what YOU want to learn as well as all the techniques I think you need to learn. Both rockschool grades and RGT grades means you will be required to take exams at a designated exam centre. The exams themselves are still based around contemporary music and cover a variety of styles from pop, rock, funk, blues and metal. One big upside of taking grades is that after passing the exam you will have a recognised qualification. My own teaching material can be moulded to your needs. Whether your aim is to just strum a few chords or become a pro musician, they'll be something I can help you with. Sight reading will NOT be forced upon you if you don't want to do it.
